University of Houston staff members from the Facilities/Construction Management department attended the 2025 TAPPA Annual Educational Conference and Business Partner Fair in Galveston, Texas from April 15-17. One of the key missions of TAPPA is to provide valuable educational programs and networking opportunities to its members and business partners.

This year’s attendees from F/CM included David Oliver, John King, David Bergman, Davd Geis, Tiffaney Brown, Magda Brady, Brad Schmidt, Carolyn Cross-Taylor, Yesenia Ramirez, Maite Trasancos, Dornese Senegal, J’Monte Hooey, and Jennifer Rea.

Assistant Vice President of Facilities Business Operations and Compliance Magda Brady serves on the TAPPA Board and invited Senior Associate Vice Chancellor/Associate Vice President for Administration and Finance Raymond Bartlett to participate on the Executive Leader Panel Discussion that aimed to provide facilities managers and their teams with a better understanding of their roles and expectations and to identify communication gaps.

Brady also presented innovative strategies to develop a robust workforce pipeline through targeted organization initiatives. Attendees gained insights into creating workforce solutions that enhance operational efficiency and address the Facilities Management industry’s challenges today.

“This was my first time attending the TAPPA conference, and several colleagues who had previously attended told me it would be a valuable experience—and I can now confidently say they were right,” said Program Director Yesenia Ramirez.

“The presenters were highly informative and shared valuable insights relevant to our work. I also enjoyed the opportunity to meet new people from other campuses, and the activities and overall organization of the event were excellent.”

The F/CM department is honored to attend and present and looks forward to future engagements.
