The Division of Student Affairs is proud to recognize Jeremy Burrell as the September 2025 Golden Paw Employee of the Month. As an Event Services Coordinator, Jeremy brings unmatched dedication, calm leadership, and a tireless work ethic to every event he supports on campus.
In his role, Jeremy oversees daily event setups and breakdowns, including furniture, staging, and signage—and provides on-site assistance to student staff and event crews. Whether it is a major university function or a last-minute setup request, Jeremy approaches every task with professionalism and a positive attitude.
Jeremy is known across the Division for being dependable, resourceful, and solutions focused. His calm demeanor and steady presence create a supportive and respectful environment for everyone around him. Jeremy does not seek recognition; he simply does the work, and he does it exceptionally well. During one particularly large event, Jeremy quietly set up over 1,000 chairs and dozens of tables entirely on his own, without complaint or hesitation. It is just one of many moments that demonstrates his dedication, humility, and willingness to do what is needed.
His reliability has had a tremendous impact not only within Event Services, but across the Division. Whether he is mentoring student staff, responding to evolving event needs, or helping colleagues’ problem-solve in real time, Jeremy consistently shows up for his team and the greater UH community.
“Working behind the scenes has always been where I feel I can make the most impact,” Jeremy shared. “I take pride in making sure everything is ready to go before anyone steps into the room.”
Jeremy’s hard work ensures that hundreds of events on campus happen without a hitch—and his attitude, consistency, and care make all the difference. His contributions truly embody the values of the Division of Student Affairs.
