Pursue a rewarding, in-demand career supporting individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
Demand for certified behavior analysts is rising fast in Texas. At the University of Houston, you’ll gain the training you need in a major metro area with a large, diverse student population and a growing number of ABA clinics. Launch your ABA career with strong job prospects!
Applied behavior analysis uses evidence-based strategies to help children and adults build communication, social and daily living skills to support learning and independence. ABA is well known for treating individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities — with research suggesting that structured, early behavioral intervention can improve long-term outcomes. Practitioners with a bachelor’s degree can become a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), while those with a master’s degree can pursue certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Behavior analysts work in clinics, schools, hospitals, community programs and other settings to help clients thrive.
Note: The UH programs have been designed to meet the BCBA and BCaBA Pathway 2 coursework requirements. Applicants will need to meet additional requirements to qualify for BCBA and BCaBA per the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® (BACB®).
