Building Strength: CHWs as Pillars in Chronic Disease Self-Management Conference
Join us  on Friday, May 9, 2025 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the University of Houston, Student Center South Building for this unique conference focused on empowering Community Health Workers (CHWs) in chronic disease self-management. Attendees can earn 4.5 CEUs (Continuing Education Units) in both English & Spanish, with new topics like: Integrated Behavioral Health, Trust Building and Chronic Disease Management. Throughout the event, you will have the opportunity to engage with community health professionals and participate in interactive presentations around trust and integrated behavioral health designed to enhance your skills and knowledge. Civic Houston Internship Program (CHIP)

The Hobby School of Public Affairs’ Civic Houston Internship Program (CHIP) offers government internships to University of Houston students during the fall and spring semesters. Since its inception over 25 years ago, the program has placed over 1700 interns in local political offices. Through this program, numerous students have gained invaluable experience and have developed the skills needed to become strong public service leaders as well as influential policy makers. Students are assigned to government offices at the municipal, county, state or federal levels throughout the greater Houston area. There are also opportunities for students to intern with non-profit organizations and campaigns. PRIORITY DEADLINE: Friday, May 30, 2025. Front-End Developer Intern
NOV is seeking a motivated Front-End Developer Intern to join their Corporate Data Science and Analytics Team in Houston, TX. The internship involves developing web applications, designing user interfaces using Python and modern front-end technologies, and integrating components with cloud services and APIs. Applicants should have proficiency in Python (including Plotly, Streamlit, and Plotly Dash), object-oriented programming, and basic knowledge of cloud technologies like AWS and Docker. Experience with Git and front-end frameworks such as React is a plus. The position is open to students pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field. Remote work is available part-time. Data Scientist Intern
The Data Scientist Intern position offers students the opportunity to work with a manufacturing organization in Houston, TX, analyzing various datasets to solve business problems. Interns will assist in cleaning data, developing machine learning models, and collaborating with Senior Data Scientists. Ideal candidates will have programming experience in SQL, Python, and tools like Pandas, Scikit-learn, and TensorFlow, along with data visualization skills in Matplotlib, Seaborn, or Plotly. Strong communication, analytical, and multitasking abilities are essential. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or Data Science. Data Analyst Intern
Enbridge Inc. is offering a Data Analyst Intern position in Houston, TX, focusing on data management and analysis using AI and machine learning techniques. The intern will assist with collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to pipeline operations, maintenance, and integrity, and develop data visualization tools. Responsibilities include collaborating with teams, supporting project planning, and exploring Machine Learning and OCR in document management. Candidates should have skills in Excel, SQL, Python, and familiarity with AI/ML, data visualization tools, and pipeline operations. This hybrid role allows two days of remote work per week. The PATH (Providing Advanced Training in Health) Internship Program
The PATH (Providing Advanced Training in Health) internship for UH, UHD, and HCC students seeks to develop the next generation of community nutrition and health programming professionals. The internship will a) teach entry-level skills to develop, deliver and evaluate a healthy lifestyle program and b) provide professional development training for careers in community nutrition and health professions.

Students will receive a $4,000 stipend for completing 225 internship hours. If unable to complete 225 internship hours, students will receive a stipend calculated at $17.75 per hour times number of completed internship hours. Kscholastic Tutoring Company- Hiring In-Person Tutors
Kscholastic is hiring academic tutors! We employ many college students, grad students, PhD candidates, teachers, and beyond for in-person tutoring for students of all ages. While we are hiring for all subjects, we are especially seeking tutors in Physics, Chemistry, Latin, Spanish, and French. Pay starts at $30/hour (or more, based on experience and expertise—could go up to $45/$50+). Tutors only have to work 2-3 days/week (between Sundays and Thursdays- after school/evening hours), and must have a vehicle. Presidential Fellows Program At-Large and Innovation Fellowships - CSPC

The Presidential Fellows Program, initiated by the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress (CSPC), provides top collegiate students with the opportunity to study the federal policymaking process and the inner workings of the executive and legislative branches. Fellows learn about leadership and governance, hone their research skills, and engage in civil discourse with public officials, policy experts, and their peers. Presidential Fellows will engage in monthly virtual seminars, attend an all-expenses-paid conference in Washington, D.C., and complete a research paper with guidance from a program-assigned mentor. There are two fully-funded pathways for students to become Presidential Fellows: the At-Large Fellowship and the STEM-focused Innovation Fellowship. Applicants must be undergraduate and graduate students with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Additionally, for the Innovation Fellowship, applicants must be in a STEM major or minor. TEACH Fellowship in Taiwan - AICEE Taiwan
The TEACH Fellowship, an initiative by the Association of International Cultural and Educational Exchange Taiwan (AICEE), invites certified/licensed K-12 teachers to teach in Taiwan for one academic year (11 months) to create an immersed bilingual and cultural learning environment for Taiwanese students and to enhance cultural and educational exchanges between Taiwan and the world. Applicants must be native English speakers, citizens of either the U.S., Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, or New Zealand, have a master's degree or bachelor's degree with two years of general work experience, a state teaching license or a year of experience teaching K-12 with a degree in education, English, or related field and a chosen certificate approved by an accredited university. 2026 Schwarzman Scholars

Schwarzman Scholars is a fully-funded, one-year master's degree and leadership program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. The curriculum is focused on three multidisciplinary pillars: Leadership, China, and Global Affairs. Once completed, all Scholars receive a Master's Degree in Global Affairs. Schwarzman Scholars receive a world-class education through interactions with foreign ministers, political leaders, cultural luminaries, and entrepreneurs. Eligible applicants must possess an undergraduate degree in any field by August 2026, be 18-28 years of age, and possess English proficiency. Submission Deadline is September 10, 2025 at 2 p.m. CST. 2026-2027 Luce Scholars Program

The Luce Scholars Program is a yearlong opportunity for emerging leaders to deepen their ties and understanding of Asia's countries, cultures, and people. The 13-month-long program provides stipends, language training, and individualized professional placement in Northeast, Southeast, or South Asia. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and graduating seniors, recent graduates, or young professionals. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have earned a bachelor's degree or its equivalent by the start of the Luce Scholars orientation in late June. Submission Deadline: September 15, 2025. Harris County Historical Society Award for Excellence
The Harris County Historical Society presents the annual award for excellence to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student for a public history project focused on Houston or Harris County history. The $1,500 scholarship will be awarded for the Fall 2025 semester. The award recipient will be expected to present their project or a summary thereof at the 2024 Harris County Historical Society Dinner. Submitted projects should be completed between June 1, 2024 and May 15, 2025. Adults with Communication Disorders and Law Enforcement Study Participant - UH Communication Sciences and Disorders
The Child Language Ability Lab in the UH Communication Sciences and Disorders Department is conducting a study examining the relationship between Black college-aged adults with communication disorders and any interactions with law enforcement. The lab is looking for neurodiverse Black college-aged adults to participate in the study via a one-hour interview. Participants will receive a $20 e-gift card.
