Jan-Åke Gustafsson, head of the University of Houston’s Center for Nuclear Receptors
and Cell Signaling and one of UH’s star faculty recruits, spoke to the Houston Chronicle
last week about his team’s new EPA-funded project that will enhance scientists’ understanding
of how industrial chemicals in the environment can harm human health and development.
In the prominently featured interview he also discussed his first summer in Houston
and his rapidly growing research center, which is a centerpiece of UH’s new biomedical
research initiative.
