Alumni Connections
February 13, 2008
Tomorrow is a day that we celebrate our connections with loved ones. So it seems a
fitting time for me to share my appreciation with so many of you who have made an
effort to connect with the university and me over the past month.
When I first reached out and asked you to share your thoughts and participate in
building the future of the University of Houston, I had high hopes for a great response.
And now, after thousands of students, alumni, faculty, staff and community members
have participated, I am truly inspired by your passion for this university. I have
read suggestions ranging from strengthening our on-campus community and improving
graduation rates to attracting nationally prominent faculty and promoting stronger
local research partnerships.
It is clear to me that there is a strong desire for the University of Houston to be
nationally competitive, global in reach, and a place where student success is a priority.
If you have not already done so, I encourage you to share your ideas now.
This is incredibly helpful to me as I prepare to meet with UH leadership and outline
our vision for the future as well as our strategies, plans, and priorities. I look
forward to sharing that vision with you.
Sincerely,
Renu Khator
