  Psychology Professor Elena Grigorenko Receives University of Houston’s Farfel Award

  Elena Grigorenko, the Hugh Roy and Lillie Cranz Cullen Distinguished Professor of Psychology, is the recipient of the 2025 Esther Farfel Award, the University of Houston’s highest faculty honor.

  UH Student Awarded Prestigious Barry Goldwater Scholarship

  Cole Woody, a sophomore biology major in the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Houston who is breaking new ground in cancer research, has been awarded a Barry Goldwater Scholarship, one of the nation’s most prestigious awards for students focused on research in natural sciences, mathematics, and engineering.

  University of Houston Professors Awarded Prestigious Guggenheim Fellowships

  The John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation has appointed two University of Houston professors to its centennial class of Guggenheim Fellows, one of the world’s most prestigious honors for scholars in the arts and humanities. Anna Mayer, an associate professor in the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts, and francine j. harris, an English professor in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, were among 198 distinguished creative artists chosen from nearly 3,500 applicants.
