Application Deadline:
The MAT program only begins in summer semesters and all applications must be submitted by the deadline of Jan 15th. Check the FAQ for any questions related to the application.

Completed University of Houston Graduate School application.
- Submit official transcript from all prior institutions electronically to gradschool@uh.edu
- A cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0 is required with special emphasis on the grades in required courses (see required courses below).
- International students only – Submit English language proficiency scores to UH graduate school
- Submit official transcript from all prior institutions electronically to gradschool@uh.edu

Complete ATCAS Application (CAATE offers needs based ATCAS fee waivers, check the fee waiver requirements)

- 50 observation hours documented on the UH MAT Observation Hour Form

A grade of a “B” or higher in the Required courses is recommended

- Anatomy & Physiology 1 (or equivalent) (4 credit hours)

- Exercise Physiology (3 credit hours)
- Motor Learning (3 credit hours)
- Psychology (3 credit hours)
- Statistics (3 credit hours)

MAT Program Prerequisite Course Evaluation Policy
ALL supporting materials, with the exception of official transcripts, should be uploaded through the UH online graduate school application or ATCAS online application.
A virtual interview will be required as a part of the application process.
