WGSS would like to highlight these Houston area organizations that can provide assistance, service, or a safe and welcoming space for gender and sexual minorities, victims of violent crime, etc..

  • B.I.R.T.H.: resources and information for mothers in the Houston area.
  • Coalition Against Human Trafficking: Houston chapter of the anti-trafficking movement seeking an end to human trafficking.
  • Dress for Success: Houston area chapter provides business suits and career development for over 3,000 women each year.
  • Houston Area Women's Center: provides vital safety information and resources both to victims/survivors of sexual and domestic violence and to their family members and friends, especially in the Houston area.
  • The Bridge Over Troubled Waters: Pasadena non-profit shelter program for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and homelessness.
  • The Women's Institute of Houston: non-profit continuing education organization with courses taught by faculty from local universities.
  • Pride Houston: LGBTQ+ community in the city of Houston dedicated to addressing challenges with strength, grace, and unwavering leadership.
