Cloe Bourdages Assistant Dean of Students

Cloe joined the University of Houston as the Assistant Dean of Students in March 2025. In this role, she serves as a hearing officer within the student conduct process, thoughtfully addressing student conduct cases. Cloe is dedicated to fostering education and student growth, repairing harm and rebuilding trust, ensuring fairness and transparency in conduct processes, and helping students reflect on their real-world impact. She is passionate about guiding students through their challenges, supporting their personal and professional development, and empowering them to make positive contributions to their community. Additionally, Cloe advises the Dean of Students Leadership Ambassador Program and leads the "Know the Code" campaign, promoting awareness and understanding of the university's code of conduct among students.

Professional Background

Cloe's career in higher education spans several years, with experience in student conduct, housing, and community development.

Texas A&M University at Galveston - Before joining the University of Houston, Cloe served as a Housing Coordinator at Texas A&M University at Galveston (TAMUG). She recruited, trained, supervised, and evaluated Community Leaders and Company Commanders, managing residential life across multiple halls. Cloe also facilitated living learning communities, adjudicated Student Conduct violations, collaborated with campus partners on the CARE team, and served in an on-call rotation for crisis response. In 2025, she was awarded the SWACUHO Nancy Murphy-Chadwick New Professional of Distinction Award for her outstanding work and impact.

Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL - From July 2019 to May 2021, Cloe served as the Associate Resident Director for University Housing and Dining Services. She recruited, trained, supervised, and evaluated Resident Advisers and Desk Assistants, overseeing the daily operations of a co-ed residential building. Cloe managed programming and student staff development budgets, served in an on-call rotation for crisis response, adjudicated Student Code of Conduct violations, and advised the Hall Council. During her time at Eastern Illinois University, she completed her thesis on student success and best practices.

Personal Interests

In her free time, Cloe serves on the board of a local community group, giving back to her community. She enjoys live music, spending time with her dog Bubbles, and traveling. Cloe is committed to fostering an environment where students can thrive academically and personally, ensuring they have the support and resources needed to succeed both in their studies and in their personal growth.
