Yoon Koh is a Professor at the Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership, University of Houston. She leverages a variety of AI-based tools to conduct deep data analysis in her research. Her areas of expertise include entrepreneurship, start-up funding, sharing economy, ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance), and trend analysis.
She is the author of more than 47 peer-reviewed journal articles and 61 conference presentations. Dr. Koh serves on the editorial boards of leading hospitality and tourism journals and served as a guest editor for Tourism Economics on the special issue "Economic Impact of Corporate Social Responsibilities."
Dr. Koh is a recipient of numerous awards and grants, including the UH Teaching Award, Donald Greenway Excellence Award, Provost's Excellence Award, 50-in-5 Scholar Award, STR SHARE Impact Award, Stephen Rushmore/HVS Faculty Research Award, and the Outstanding Scientific Paper Reviewer in Finance Award at the ICHRIE conference. She has also received multiple Best Conference Paper Awards at the annual Graduate Education & Graduate Student Research Conference in Hospitality & Tourism.
She brings nine years of industry experience in banking, hospitality, and consulting to her classrooms, enriching her teaching with practical insight and applied knowledge.
