Randy McCaslin (Hon ’07) is the president of McCaslin Hotel Consulting, LLC. He has over 45 years of professional experience in the hospitality industry, over 35 years of professional experience in consulting and more than 10 years of experience in hospitality operations. McCaslin earned a master of business administration, accounting degree from the University of Houston and a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He is also an honorary alumnus, with 30 completed hours, from Hilton College

Prior to founding McCaslin Hotel Consulting, LLC., McCaslin held positions as the managing director for CBRE Hotels Consulting, senior vice president for PKF Consulting USA, a manager for KPMG Peat Marwick Hospitality Practice, a real estate analyst for Resolution Trust Corporation and a senior consultant for Laventhol & Horwath.

McCaslin has experience conducting market and financial feasibility studies for hundreds of hotels from limited service to luxury full-service. He has analyzed, repositioned and rebranded historic and outdated hotels. McCaslin also has specialized expertise with medical-related hotels and independent boutique hotel projects.

Through his company, McCaslin has also managed assets for the ownership of numerous full-service hotels and conducted market and financial feasibility analyses for dozens of public and private projects. He has managed the RFQ and RFP developer selection process, as well as provided economic impact and gap analysis for dozens of public/private entities.

Clients for some of these projects have included hotel owners and developers, lenders and investors, major hotel brands, hotel management companies and municipalities, public agencies. McCaslin has assisted clients on assignments in the south-central region of the US, including Midwest states, such as Texas and Louisiana.

McCaslin is currently a Hilton College Dean’s Advisory Board member and was the former president and a member of the Hilton College Alumni Board. He is an adjunct professor for the Hilton College Global Master’s program and Rice University’s MBA program, where he also frequently provides class lectures at both universities.

Additionally, McCaslin annually presents the Houston five-year market forecast to the Hotel & Lodging Association of Greater Houston and is a frequent speaker at several industry conferences.  He’s regularly quoted in industry publications and the general press.
