Career Highlights:
Ching-Hsing Wang is an associate professor in the Department of Political Science at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in Taiwan. Prior to joining NCKU in 2019, Wang was a postdoctoral fellow at the Hobby School of Public Affairs at the University of Houston. He earned his B.A. and M.A. in political science from National Chengchi University in Taiwan, followed by an M.A. and Ph.D. in political science from the University of Houston.
Wang’s academic expertise encompasses comparative politics, American politics and research methods. His research interests are particularly focused on political behavior, public opinion, political psychology, political institutions and Asian politics. He has an extensive publication record, with articles appearing in esteemed academic journals such as Democratization, Electoral Studies, Globalization and Health, International Political Science Review, Japanese Journal of Political Science, Journal of Asian and African Studies, Journal of Electoral Studies, Party Politics, Political Science, Political Studies Review, Social Science Quarterly, The Social Science Journal and Taiwanese Political Science Review, among others.
Wang’s research has garnered funding from Taiwan’s National Science and Technology Council and the Yushan Young Fellow Program of the Ministry of Education. Since 2021, he has been a collaborating investigator for Taiwan’s Election and Democratization Study. In addition to his research and teaching roles, Wang contributes to the academic community as an associate dditor for The Social Science Journal and as an Academic Editor for PLOS ONE.
