Test-stressed Students Get Help from Faithful Paws

Final exams are part of student life, but the stress doesn’t have to be. For the second year, dogs (and their humans) from Faithful Paws visited UH Sugar Land students for some playtime and puppy therapy. The five dogs mingled with students in Brazos Hall and the Albert & Mamie George building in late November. The dogs, trained in basic obedience and socialization, snuggled and snapped selfies with students eager for distractions before and after their exams. Faithful Paws pets are regular visitors at area nursing homes hospitals and sometimes area schools.
Speaking of de-stress, students from the College of Nursing brought out the mats for some therapeutic yoga and Pilates. Students fresh from exams lined up for gentle stretches and mindful breathing—a perfect pairing for the end of the semester.
