Four UH students at the Sugar Land Instructional Site took home cash prizes for showing their Cougar pride. The event was part of the Cougar Proud Competition that asked students attending classes at UH at Sugar Land to explain in a 60 second video why they were Cougar Proud.
The 17 videos submitted did not disappoint.
Answers ranged from ease of commute and access to instructors, to program selection and career advice.
“Having innovative state-of-the-art facilities, led by industry experienced professors, has equipped me to be a successful professional in the digital media industry,” said student Christian Ornelas in his video.
Others touted study spaces, parking availability, food and coffee.
One nursing student touted the diversity of the community and the culture of integrity fostered at UH.
“I will be graduating in December and that is because of my amazing professors,” said Tkeyah Sandlers. “They all are empathy personified; they are deep wells of wisdom and show you right away that you are not just a number here.”
