Internships and Placements

Internships

The internship program is an important feature of the Public History curriculum at the University of Houston. Through supervised internships, usually conducted over a period of one semester, students learn practical uses of history outside of the university. Internships can be paid or unpaid, depending on need and client requirements.

At the beginning of the semester in which a student begins his/her internship, the student:

  • submits a written description of the proposed internship activities
  • insures that the internship supervisor submits the "Internship Approval Form”
  • submits a schedule of working hours.

At the end of the internship, the student will submit the "Final Evaluation Form: Intern" and the internship supervisor will submit the "Final Evaluation Form: Supervisor." The student also will meet with the director of CPH, to discuss completion of the internship. View a list of selected internships »
