Mission
The RESTORE Laboratory: Research on Emotion, Substance Treatment Outcomes, and Racial Equity is a treatment and research lab affiliated with the American Psychology Association-approved UH Clinical Psychology Program. Our mission is to conduct research focusing on racial equity within minority groups to provide accurate, evidence-based information for adults dealing with stress and/or substance use or those desiring health behavior change (e.g., minimizing obesity levels, smoking cessation, etc.). We specialize in the following behavior problems: stress, trauma exposure, excessive worry, tobacco use and dependence, problematic cannabis use, chronic physical illness, and counteracting sedentary behavior, as well as other high-risk behaviors (e.g., unprotected sex).
