Learning Abroad
The learning abroad office, located in Ezekiel W. Cullen Building, Suite 105, is the place to find information for all learning abroad programs offered by the University of Houston.
Four types of programs are offered:
- Faculty-led programs, such as those offered through the department of modern and classical languages to China and France, and through the African American Studies Program to Africa
- Special programs under the direction of the department of Hispanic studies to Latin America and Spain
- Affiliated programs through organizations such as International Studies Abroad (ISA) and the University Study Abroad Consortium (USAC), which have established programs all over the world
- Reciprocal educational exchange programs that allow students to pay University of Houston tuition rates to attend selected universities overseas such as Swansea University in Wales, Leipzig University in Germany, and ADA University in Azerbaijan
With pre-approval from the proper faculty member or advisor, students can earn credit toward their UH degrees abroad. Learning abroad has numerous resources available to UH students to help them participate in a program abroad, including scholarship information, individual advising sessions, pre-departure orientations and the Passport for Coogs initiative.
